While in the Music City, treat yourself to the city’s decadent desserts. You’re likely to come back for more once you get a taste!

People travel to Nashville from all over the world for live country music and the thriving downtown scene. Alas, that’s not all the city has to offer. Nashville is home to a number of eateries that will cure a sweet tooth, whether with fresh doughnuts for breakfast, a candy bar as a midday snack, or ice cream after a late night. ‍

Locals keep their dessert spots a secret, but the more tourists visit, the more word spreads. The following list is an excellent starting point for the best dessert spots that will satisfy everyone’s taste buds.

#1: Five Daughters Bakery

As the name implies, Five Daughters Bakery was started by the parents of five daughters. A household of bakers, this family turned a hobby into a business in 2015. Years later, this establishment has a reputation as one of Music City’s premier spots for baked goods. Five Daughters is famous for its 100-layer croissant-style donut. This decadent treat is a hybrid of a donut and a croissant that takes up to three days to craft. After it’s prepared and baked, the 100-layer donut is rolled in sugar, filled with cream, and topped with a delicious glaze.

#6: Goo Goo Chocolate Co

Before Snickers and 3 Musketeers, Nashville’s Goo Goo Cluster was the first combination candy bar invented. Since 1912, this chocolate-covered mound of caramel, marshmallow nougat, and peanuts has been a staple in candy history. Not much has changed regarding Goo Goo Clusters today, aside from new varieties, but experiencing these treats in their birthplace is too tempting to resist. Nashville’s Goo Goo Shop is not an average candy store either, as visitors also get the chance to make a cluster creation.
